Whose turn is it?

5/5 - (4 votes)

This will let you specify the names of your team members and the function will select a random person. It’s also possible to remove the “winner” so you can choose several people.

Use this tool if the team doesn’t offer volunteers and over time the team will be comfortable by having to volunteer and will do so without the tool.

Materials

Input the names of all the team members separated by a comma ( , )

Pressing the button above will give you a link for the game by opening the link in a new browser window. You may keep this link for the actual retrospective in the browsers favorites and it will then work directly when starting the retrospective – and will work again and again.

You can use this tool for choosing who should run sprint planning, team events etc.

Pros

  • If the team cannot find volunteers for tasks, then this selector can help you
  • You can decide if you want the “winner” removed from the list or not
  • To make the “game” funnier, you can add extra “names” like “no-one”, “I choose”, “It’s a no”, “Try again”

Cons

  • None

Duration
Approximately 10 seconds to find a volunteer.

Preparation
Open up the link under “materials” above. Enter the names of the team members and keep the link for later.
